"Am I ready?"
Jun 23, 2026
Did you know that confidence comes after action?
Many people describe what they're feeling as imposter syndrome.
But, especially in the beginning, it's usually simply the discomfort of learning something new of being a beginner at something (which is super confronting when you're a fully grown woman!)
I hear women say over and over:
"I'll teach when I feel ready."
"I'll share when I know more."
"I'll start when I'm confident."
But confidence rarely works that way.
I've had conversations this week with teachers who have completed multiple trainings and still don't feel confident.
And I've spoken with people who haven't even completed a 200-hour training yet and are wondering if they're ready to begin.
What's interesting is that both women are asking the same question:
"Am I ready?"
The truth is, readiness and confidence isn't something that mysteriously ‘happens’.
Confidence is something we build through decision and practice.
Through study, experience, asking questions.
Through making mistakes; through showing up again and again.
That's one of the reasons I place so much emphasis on ongoing mentoring, teaching clinics, community, and practical application inside the Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.
Because growth doesn't happen from watching videos and reading alone.
It happens when knowledge becomes experience.
When you have a mentor you can ask questions from and receive feedback on your teaching.
It happens when your learning and professional structure is applied to your goals, lifestyle, constraints, and the stage of life you're currently navigating.
And perhaps most importantly, it happens when you're surrounded by a community of like-minded women who are walking a similar path.
Women who are committed to learning, growing, serving, and supporting one another.
Confidence is built through consistent practice, support, and experience. In an environent setup to help you succeed in your own time - there's no rush, no one pushing you off a cliff to build wings on the way down - just the invitation to take it one next, right step at a time.
What makes this training different is that it is not designed to simply help you collect another certificate. It is designed to help you become the teacher, practitioner, and leader you are capable of becoming.
At Live to Serve Academy, learning happens within a supportive, mentor-led environment where you are guided personally throughout your journey. Through live classes, regular mentoring, teaching clinics, practical application, and an engaged community of like-minded women, you are supported not only in developing knowledge, but in building confidence, skill, experience, and professional identity.
There is no pressure to keep pace with anyone else. Whether you move quickly or take your time, you are encouraged to follow a pathway that honours your lifestyle, commitments, goals, and stage of life. This allows genuine growth to occur naturally, creating a strong foundation for long-term success as a teacher rather than a short-term focus on completing a course.
Our role is not simply to deliver information. It is to provide the guidance, support, accountability, and community that help you continue evolving long after your enrolment begins. Because the most valuable outcome is not a certificate on the wall, but the confidence, clarity, and capability to share these teachings.
The next live round of the Advanced Yoga Teacher Training begins in July, with our sale ending on June 30th (only $990 - save $2000). Or you might like to jump into the Yoga Teacher Training package (includes 200 + 350 + 500hr certification milestones in one high value package - currently 50% off!)
If you've been waiting until you feel completely ready, this is your reminder that confidence doesn't come first. Confidence comes from showing up.
From taking action. From allowing yourself to be supported by mentors, a community of like-minded women, and a learning environment designed to help you grow.
If this feels exciting and uncomfortable at the same time, that's probably a good sign.
Growth often asks us to step beyond what feels familiar.
Sometimes all that's required is the willingness to say yes to the next stage of your journey.
