2027 Could Be Your Turning Point
Aug 15, 2026
What if you didn’t wait until January to decide that next year is going to be different?
We put so much pressure on January to be the month that changes everything. The new routine. The new direction. The course we’ve been meaning to take. The healthier version of ourselves we’re finally going to become. But you don’t actually have to wait for a new year to begin something new.
The beautiful thing about deciding that now is the time to start living better is that you don't have to wait until January, set a huge New Year's resolution, and suddenly try to become a completely different person while juggling everything else in your life. You can begin now, slowly and without pressure or rush, and use the final months of the year to start learning, practising and applying what you learn to your own life.
By the time January arrives, you're not starting from scratch and hoping that somehow this year will be different. You're already on your way. You don't have to know exactly where this will lead.
Maybe you've been thinking about becoming a Yoga teacher for years. Maybe you've recently discovered Ayurveda and something about it just makes sense to you. Maybe you're already teaching Yoga and feel ready to deepen your knowledge, or perhaps you've started wondering what it might look like to build a career or side-hustle around work that feels more meaningful.
Or maybe none of those things are particularly clear yet.
Maybe you've simply reached a point in your life where you're ready to learn something that matters to you.
And that's enough.
One of the things I've seen over and over again in our students is that women don't always enroll because they have a perfectly mapped-out vision or career plan. Quite often, they begin because they want something for themselves. They want to understand Yoga more deeply. They want to know how to care for themselves better. They want a practice that belongs to them, and enriching learning experience they van dive into. ... Then, somwehre along the way, something clicks when they realise, “everyone needs this”, and begin imagining possibilities they couldn't necessarily see when they first enrolled.
So my point is, tou don't need to know the ending before you're allowed to begin.
Learn it and experience it for yourself first.
This has always been such an important part of how I think about Yoga and Ayurveda.
Before we teach it, coach it, turn it into a career or worry about what qualification we're going to get at the end, we have the opportunity to actually live it.
Yoga and Ayurveda were never meant to be things we could only access through another class, appointment, practitioner, retreat or wellness program. Their teachings are fundamentally about life: how we move, breathe, eat, rest, think, respond, connect and care for ourselves and others.
And so much of it can be surprisingly simple.
You can learn how to practise Yoga in your own lounge room rather than always needing to get to a class. You can understand your body and mind more deeply. You can learn how food, sleep, daily rhythms and the seasons influence how you feel. You can build a morning practice that works for your actual life. You can breathe differently when you're stressed, cook differently when you're depleted, and begin noticing what genuinely helps you feel grounded and well.
Over time, Yoga and Ayurveda stop being another collection of wellness activities you somehow have to squeeze into your week, and they start becoming part of the way you live.
I think this is another reason people sometimes hesitate to go deeper into Yoga or Ayurveda.
We can have this idea that we're going to have to become incredibly disciplined, wake up at 4am, follow a complicated daily routine, give up everything we enjoy, become exceptionally flexible or somehow become a much more "spiritual" person.
That’s not the case at all.
You also don't need to quit your job, have endless spare time or reorganise your entire family around your studies.
The question is really: how can these teachings support the life you already have?
That has certainly been true in my own life. I didn't build my life around Yoga and Ayurveda because life became beautifully simple and I suddenly had endless time to practise. I've learned how to bring the practices into a very normal, full life - through work, raising a family, different seasons, responsibilities, challenges and change.
And, for me, that's where these teachings become most valuable: when we discover how to live them in the middle of ordinary life.
So... What could change in a year?
I think this is a potentially profound and motivating question to sit with as we move towards another new year. "What could change if I gave myself a year to learn something I genuinely care about?"
A year from now, you could understand Yoga in an entirely different way. You could have a personal practice that doesn't disappear when you can't make it to class. You could understand Ayurveda well enough to naturally apply its principles in your everyday life.
You might be teaching Yoga asana classes.
You might be supporting others with Ayurveda.
You might already be a teacher and find yourself developing greater confidence, depth, and a clearer sense of what you want to offer.
You might even begin imagining a completely different direction for your work and life.
But perhaps the most meaningful changes won't be the ones written on your certificate. Perhaps you'll simply become more grounded. More knowledgeable. More confident in your ability to care for yourself. You'll have practices you can return to when life gets busy and an understanding of your own wellbeing that doesn't always need to be outsourced to someone else.
You'll have something meaningful in your life that belongs to you.
And mayyybe, one day, you'll take what you've learned and use it to help someone else too.
